Exclusive to all Journey Dog Training Alumni (Prime Pups School and our 1-on-1 Dog and 1-on-1 Puppy Training), our Owner Coaching sessions build on your knowledge in practical, public scenarios alongside other Alumni.

Practice your training skills around other Alumni knowing their dogs are also on learning journeys so are safe (and fun!) to work around. These small group sessions aim to give you and your dog confidence, and prepare you both for the real world!

What’s Involved

  • Numbers vary, but a maximum of 5 trainee dogs (and their humans) will be in a group. This ensures everyone gets dedicated time with the trainer in a controlled environment.

    In some cases, appropriate older or well-socialised dogs may come along for others to train around.

    In order to get the most out of these sessions (and because we've worked with your dog before!) we're selective with which dogs we group together.

  • Owner Coaching sessions are available at Alumni-only price of $50 per session, with a minimum booking of two sessions, and a maximum of as many dates you would like to attend!

    Once your registration is processed, payment is due with 48 hours to secure your sessions. Waiting lists are available in case of last minute cancellations.

  • This depends on how many are in your group:

    3–5 people/dogs: 1 hour
    2 people/dogs: 45 minutes
    1 person/dog: 30 minutes

    Note: Sessions will go ahead in all weather, unless extreme. You will be notified in advance if sessions need to be postponed.

  • Sessions are held in public Tauranga-based parks, open spaces, walking trails and reserves.

  • When you register for Owner Coaching, you'll have the opportunity to select a minimum of 2 available dates that work for you.

    Note that these vary each month and spaces fill up quick—in these cases you can join our waitlist, or check back next month when the new sessions are released.

Suitable for dogs of all ages that have graduated our Prime Pups School or attended private dog or puppy training.

Please read our Booking Terms & Conditions before registering. Payment must be made within 48 hours of your registration. 48 hours notice of cancellation must be given, credit can be applied at the trainer’s discretion.
